As most Dravidian Aaiyyanists know, the majority of Aaiyyanist rituals involve writing the ancient mystical symbols that were revealed to us 100,000 years ago by Murugan-Aaiyyan. Most young Aaiyyanists may ask themselves: why do Aaiyyanist rituals follow the path of inscribing rather than the mainstream Hindu rituals which usually chant prayers in Sanskrit, while performing actions in a temple setting? The answer to most Dravidians is simple. The teachings of Murugan-Aaiyyan and the Dravidian Aaiyyanist tradition is much more ancient than mainstream (Aryan) Hinduism. They were revealed at the start of human consciousness when Murugan himself transferred the wisdom of the Gods directly to humanity.
What is the main purpose of inscribing these sacred symbols? Its purpose is to open Lokas/Talas (positive/negative dimensions) and have that resonant energy interact with us on a deeply spiritual level. Murugan-Aaiyyan told us that chanting the words do not open the gateways, only physically, mentally and spiritually inscribing 'The Keys' (the symbols themselves) can open the doors to the myriad of dimensions that surround us. The language of the Aaiyyanist is Dravidian Aaiyyani and it too is a sacred language, but in terms of reciting it during rituals - it is irrelevant, as simply writing the symbols in the correct meditative state is sufficient.
The ultimate purpose of any Aaiyyanist ritual is to open a particular Loka to saturate the area with that particular resonant energy. For example, in a traditional Aaiyyanist wedding one would inscribe the Badaagaiyyan Loka which resonantly binds the two individuals together in this lifetime and the ten subsequent lifetimes. Another ritual is the Imaamiaalu which is carried out when someone dies and is cremated to either be reborn or be re-merged with Brahman. This opens up the Imaamiaaluyan Loka and sends the resonance energy required to bind the Atman (soul) with the spiritual energy to make the transition to the next plane/life and the focus needed to complete the next stage of its journey. Many Aaiyyanists who can recall their previous live and the transition between lives know how important this source of energy is in the transition.
There are many many Lokas and Talas that exist in this Universal reality, thus there are many symbolic inscriptions or rituals that the Aaiyyanist must learn in their lifetime. The Aaiyyan World Foundation will teach you the sacred symbols to heal and to perform Siddhi actions. When you are of a sufficiently higher level, then we will teach you the rituals to perform other actions such as weddings, rebirth rituals, the welcoming of newborns etc... These are usually designated to Swami/Guru level Aaiyyanists and above. Most Aaiyyani (master) level Aaiyyanists do not perform rituals on a daily basis as their tasks are usually researching, teaching and guiding other Aaiyyanists in their duties.
To summarise, the sacred symbolic images that represent the key to the many dimensional portals came slightly before language was established. Thus Dravidian Aaiyyani came after the sacred symbols, but is the closest expression in human language that can describe the symbols and what they do (from an Aaiyyanist perspective). However, during Aaiyyanist rituals no words are usually spoken as one needs to be totally focused on rendering the symbols and focusing ones mind and spirit on opening the Loka (dimension). The aim of all Aaiyyanist rituals is to open dimensions (Lokas/Talas) such that resonant energy can be transferred from those realms to ours. This energy can then be used as per the rituals purpose (e.g. to link two Atmans (souls) together, to protect a newborn baby from negative energy, to aid an Atman in its transition from this life to the next etc...). By continuously performing these ancient Dravidian rituals that were given to us from Murugan-Aaiyyan, we are in face becoming closer to Brahman. Basically, the more times we break the barriers between our world and the countless ones that surround us... we are in fact weakening/dissolving the barriers to Oneness and the illusionary separation between us and Brahman.
